On the night of June 29, 2024, Imad Alboghbish, the son of Tawfiq and a resident of the Saeedi district in Bandar Mahshahr, was killed along with two of his friends in an ambush set by the Revolutionary Guard Corps on the Ahwaz-Mahshahr road. The two other individuals were injured and subsequently arrested.
No additional information has been provided about the reasons behind the shooting and ambush by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. This incident is not isolated; security forces have previously shot Arab citizens directly on numerous occasions as part of a systematic policy to silence Arab protesters and instill fear among Ahwazi citizens.
