Ahwazi Conference in London under the Slogan “Ahwaz First”
In response to the calls of our Ahwazi Arab nation in the homeland and in the diaspora, and in recognition of the national responsibility required at this pivotal moment for the region, an Ahwazi national conference was held in the British capital, London, on Saturday, 7 March 2026, under the slogan “Ahwaz First.”The conference was attended by a number of Ahwazi national movements and organizations, as well as political leaders and national figures from several European countries.
The conference was convened through joint coordination between the Coordinating Council of the Ahwazi Organizations (CCAO) and several Ahwazi national movements and organizations, with the aim of strengthening Ahwazi national unity and developing mechanisms for joint political action that reflect the will of our people. It also sought to unify the efforts of Ahwazis both inside the homeland and in exile, and to enhance the presence of the just Ahwazi cause at the regional and international levels, particularly in light of the critical developments currently affecting the Iranian regime.
During the conference, participants discussed a number of political and organizational issues related to the future of the Ahwazi cause, while also reviewing current regional and international developments. Participants emphasized that the ongoing transformations open important political opportunities for the Ahwazi Arab nation to strengthen their international presence and to defend their legitimate rights.
In this context, the conference reaffirmed the inalienable and fundamental right of the Ahwazi Arab people to self-determination, in accordance with the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
As a practical step toward strengthening national unity and advancing coordinated action, it was agreed that the following organizations would join the Coordinating Council of the Ahwazi Organizations (CCAO):
- The Arab Struggle Movement for the Liberation of Ahwaz
- The Ahwazi Arab Struggle Movement
- The Ahwazi Assembly
With this development, the number of organizations within CCAO has reached eight organizations, while reaffirming the commitment to continued consultation, coordination, and the development of joint political mechanisms that serve the national cause and strengthen its political presence.
Participants also affirmed that the Coordinating Council of the Ahwazi Organizations and its affiliated movements firmly believe in the principles of international law, international humanitarian law, and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and categorically reject all forms of extremism, racism, and religious, ethnic, or sectarian discrimination.
In this regard, the Ahwazi national forces reaffirm their commitment to working toward a future founded on freedom, justice, peaceful coexistence, and stability, in a manner that enhances opportunities for development and prosperity for the peoples of the region and establishes relations based on mutual respect and shared interests.
The participants also expressed their readiness to cooperate and engage positively with the international community, including the United Nations, the United States of America, the European Union, the League of Arab States, and the Gulf Cooperation Council, in ways that contribute to strengthening regional stability, enhancing security, and confronting the policies of terrorism and extremism pursued by the Iranian regime.
The conference affirmed that Ahwazi national unity represents the fundamental pillar for strengthening the presence of the Ahwazi cause at both the regional and international levels, and that the Ahwazi Arab nation will continue their legitimate struggle for freedom, dignity, and the restoration of their national rights through lawful political means and in accordance with the principles of international law.
