American Soldiers Injured in Attack on “Ain al-Asad” Base in Iraq

A spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) reported that several American soldiers were injured in a missile attack targeting the “Ain al-Asad” military base in Iraq on Monday. The spokesperson indicated that the attack, believed to have been carried out with missiles, targeted U.S. and coalition forces at the Ain al-Asad base. Initial information suggests that some American soldiers were injured.

This attack follows a missile launch on Monday at the Ain al-Asad base, which hosts U.S. troops, coming just days after an American airstrike killed four Iraqi fighters loyal to the Persian occupation state, raising concerns about escalating tensions in the region, according to Iraqi sources.

A military source confirmed that missiles targeted the Ain al-Asad base in Anbar Province, with some landing inside the base and one missile landing in a nearby village without causing any damage. In a statement to Agence France-Presse, a representative of a faction supported by the occupation state reported that the base was attacked with at least two missiles but did not specify the responsible party.
