Statement Issued by the Ahwazi Democratic Popular FrontOn the Occasion of the Forty-Seventh Anniversary of the Revolution of the Peoples Against the Monarchical Pahlavi Regime of Despotism and Occupation

The forty-seventh anniversary of the revolution of the peoples within the political geography of Iran against the monarchical Pahlavi regime of occupation and despotism marks a historic turning point, during which the peoples expressed their absolute rejection of injustice, oppression, and the absence of freedoms, as well as their rejection of the repressive centralist policies practiced by the state against all non-Persian nations and peoples.

This revolution was the result of a long accumulation of policies of national oppression, ethnic cleansing, occupation of peoples’ lands, plundering of their wealth, and deprivation of their most basic political and human rights—foremost among them the natural right to self-determination and to manage their own affairs with freedom and dignity.

Although the fall of the Pahlavi monarchy came as a result of collective struggle in which all oppressed peoples participated, despotism did not end. Rather, it reproduced itself in more repressive and extremist forms under a chauvinistic and sectarian Islamic cover through the Islamic Republic of Iran. This regime practices expansionist and terrorist policies against non-Persian peoples and continues repression, denial of rights, and destabilization—not only within Iran but across the region.

We further affirm that the danger of this regime has, for decades, extended beyond the geographical borders of Iran and has become a principal source of exporting terrorism, extremism, and chaos to countries of the region and the world, undermining security and stability, including in Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon, and Syria following its liberation from the Assad regime and Iranian-backed militias, as well as in other countries. This makes its removal a humanitarian, regional, and international security necessity, not merely an internal matter.

The Front also affirms that any temporary solutions or phased settlements with this regime will not end its terrorist policies; rather, they would grant it the opportunity to reorganize its ranks and regain strength to continue internal repression and external expansion. Therefore, the peaceful overthrow of this regime by all oppressed and occupied peoples remains the only path to ending the cycle of violence and chaos and to ensuring security and stability in Iran and throughout the region.

The Ahwazi Democratic Popular Front reiterates its firm solidarity with all peoples within the political geography of Iran, as well as with the international community and free nations, standing together against despotism, terrorism, and expansionism, in order to restore freedom and human dignity and to guarantee the right of peoples to self-determination in accordance with international law and humanitarian conventions.

We categorically reject any attempt to restore dictatorship and despotism under any name or pretext and affirm our full commitment to respecting the will of the peoples in building their future with freedom and independence.

We also reaffirm our full respect for all international conventions, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and our rejection of all forms of violence, extremism, and discrimination, while guaranteeing the freedom of peoples to express themselves and choose their dignified human future.
