Political Statement Issued by the Ahwazi Democratic Popular Fronton the Occasion of the Thirty-Sixth Anniversary of Its Founding

To the steadfast masses of our Arab Ahwazi people,
To the cadres and fighters of the Ahwazi Democratic Popular Front at home and in the diaspora,
To the sons and daughters of our Arab nation,
To the free people of the world and all advocates of justice and the rights of peoples,

The thirty-sixth anniversary of the founding of the Ahwazi Democratic Popular Front comes at a pivotal historical moment. It is a moment in which the sacrifices of the past intersect with the responsibilities of the present, and in which the will of peoples advances over projects of repression and occupation. This unfolds amid the escalating popular uprising across the entire political geography referred to as Iran.

Thirty-six years of sincere national struggle have marked the path of the Front. Throughout this period, it has upheld the banner of defending the Arab identity of Ahwaz and the right of its people to freedom, dignity, self-determination, and independence. This struggle has confronted policies of occupation, displacement, forced Persianization, and systematic repression practiced by successive regimes in Tehran, without distinction between religious despotism and authoritarian rule.

The Ahwazi Democratic Popular Front was founded upon clear and steadfast principles, foremost among them:
• The right of the Arab Ahwazi people to freely determine their destiny in accordance with international laws and conventions, leading to full independence and the proclamation of their independent national state;
• The struggle for national liberation and the end of Iranian occupation of Ahwaz;
• The establishment of a modern democratic state based on the rule of law and the will of the people;
• The rejection of all forms of despotism, guardianship, and domination, regardless of their form or pretext.

Throughout its struggle, the Front has offered convoys of martyrs who gave their lives in defense of land, identity, and dignity. Their families have endured severe repression, persecution, and deprivation. The Front also extends its salute to the prisoners and detainees held in the prisons of the Iranian occupation and affirms that their cause remains a national responsibility and trust until full freedom is achieved.

The current phase, marked by a general uprising and escalating revolts of non-Persian peoples across the political geography referred to as Iran, imposes grave historical responsibilities. At the same time, it opens genuine prospects for dismantling the system of despotism and building a new future founded on justice and the rights of peoples.

In this context, the Ahwazi Popular Democratic Front affirms:
• That the ongoing uprising is a revolution of oppressed peoples, not an internal power struggle;
• That any political project which fails to recognize the right of peoples—foremost among them the Ahwazi people—to self-determination and independence is a failed project that merely reproduces despotism;
• That any return to dictatorship, whether religious, authoritarian, or monarchical, is categorically rejected.

The Front emphasizes the necessity of sustained efforts to achieve unity within the Ahwazi ranks. Such unity is an essential condition for national victory and for completing the objectives of revolution and liberation. It is regarded as a decisive national strategy to unify political and popular forces against Iranian occupation and to ensure the success of the path toward independence and the establishment of an independent Ahwazi state. In this regard, the Front stresses the importance of the launch of the Coordinating Body of Ahwazi Organizations at this critical juncture and calls for full support for this body as a mechanism to unify efforts, strengthen collective capacity, and advance national victory.

The Front also affirms its strategic unity and shared destiny with non-Persian peoples. This historic alliance is viewed as a foundational pillar for dismantling the system of occupation and for building a Middle East based on respect for the rights of peoples and balanced relations among nations.

The Ahwazi Democratic Popular Front declares its full commitment to:
• The Universal Declaration of Human Rights and relevant international conventions;
• Respect for religious, intellectual, and cultural pluralism;
• The consolidation of full equality among all citizens without discrimination based on nationality, religion, sect, or gender;
• The rejection of all forms of discrimination and violence;
• Serious efforts to combat extremism and terrorism in all their forms, in cooperation with regional and international partners.

The Front believes that the establishment of an independent and democratic Ahwazi state will serve as a factor of lasting stability and peace in the region and the world. It will contribute to ending cycles of violence and war and to building relations based on good neighborliness and mutual respect, free from despotism, terrorism, extremism, and occupation.

To the cadres and fighters of the Front, it is emphasized that the current stage requires the highest levels of discipline, unity, and political and organizational readiness. Strengthening mass mobilization and media engagement remains essential, alongside continuous connection with the people inside Ahwaz.

To the great Ahwazi people, the message is clear:
The path to freedom is long, but it is your path. Independence is not granted; it is achieved through unified national will and conscious, organized struggle.

To the Arab nation, a clear call is issued to assume its national and historical responsibilities toward the Ahwaz cause. This is a just Arab cause and an integral part of the nation’s struggle against occupation and hegemony.

To the international community, it is affirmed that supporting the right of the Ahwazi people to self-determination and independence, and halting the grave crimes and violations committed against them, constitutes a legal and moral obligation under international law and legitimacy.

On the thirty-sixth anniversary of the founding of the Front, the pledge is renewed to the martyrs, the prisoners, and the masses of the people to remain faithful to principles and steadfast on the path of struggle until the liberation of Ahwaz, the realization of independence, and the proclamation of the independent Ahwazi state.

Glory to the martyrs
Freedom for the prisoners
Freedom and independence for Ahwaz
Victory to the will of peoples
