In light of the ongoing popular demonstrations across Iran’s political geography in recent days, and the systematic repression and criminal acts carried out by the Iranian regime against peaceful protesters throughout Iran’s political landscape—including the regions of non-Persian peoples who are rising up and living under occupation by the Persian state—we affirm that the Iranian regime has committed the most heinous crimes by using live ammunition against unarmed demonstrators.
These crimes have been widely condemned by numerous international human rights institutions and organizations, as well as by a number of world leaders, foremost among them U.S. President Donald Trump, who today issued a clear statement supporting the continuation of the popular protests and standing with the demonstrators who are facing bloody repression by the Iranian regime across various regions of Iran’s political geography, including the areas of peoples living under Iranian occupation and oppression.
In light of this clear humanitarian stance, we, the Ahwazi Arabs, commend the statements of U.S. President Donald Trump and extend our gratitude to him for his support of the rights of oppressed peoples. At the same time, we call upon all world leaders to adopt similar positions and to stand alongside the peoples rising up against injustice and tyranny.
