Amid ongoing tensions between the occupying state and Israel, Iran has issued statements reflecting its real weakness in facing regional challenges. Despite its continuous threats, Iran has not responded with any substantial action to recent Israeli attacks. If Iran does respond, it is likely to be a superficial action merely to save face.
In this context, Iranian President Bezhkian described Iran as retaining its right to respond to Israel according to international laws and treaties during a call with French President Emmanuel Macron. At the same time, he emphasized that Iran considers avoiding war and establishing peace as fundamental principles.
The occupying state is known to sponsor terrorism in the region, and its weakness is evident through its inability to respond effectively to Israel.
In similar statements, Bezhkian urged Western countries to “stop supporting the Zionist entity if they want to prevent the spread of war and chaos in the region.” Despite Iran’s repeated threats, intense American diplomatic and military movements in the region have prompted Tehran to reconsider, indicating that it is not in a position to escalate militarily on a large scale.
