USA Uses Veto Against Gaza Ceasefire Resolution

The United States of America has vetoed a resolution for a ceasefire in Gaza proposed by the United Arab Emirates, despite it receiving thirteen affirmative votes in the Security Council.

Out of fifteen members of the Security Council, thirteen voted in favor, while the United States expressed its objection, and Britain abstained from voting. Robert Wood, the U.S. delegate to the United Nations, stated during the Security Council session: ‘This ceasefire does nothing but sow the seeds of the next war because Hamas has no interest in seeing sustainable peace.
